Smythus clears his throat "kkchhhmmm" pointing to the newly arrived yellow tounge monk, "I have spoken with this brave monk Cain, he says he would like to travel with us in search of the prince." Smythus grins and glances toward Tiberious, "he also states he knows Tiberious from long ago. They trained together in the White Dragon Temple before Cain became a Yellow Tounge. Infact, Cain has entered a challange of honorable combat with Tiberious, but has agreed to hold off on this challange until after the group has returned to Grime. Apparently, he must compete with Tiberious infront of his master to be sure Tiberious does not attempt to cheat." (OOC SKA although you were careful not to show your identity to the newly arrived monk, it seems Smythus informed him of who you were during his brief conversation). The old cleric looks happy to have a new allie. Ruinbottle suggests that the group carry back the version of the princess that the Yellow Wizard (P&P) suggested, perhaps hide her with the driver. He believes that the bruises spotted by the wizard were so minor and difficult to see that they are unlikely a ruse. Ruinbottle takes out the map for Cal, "The room is just off of the Dragon cavern down this hall. I haven't drawn it in just yet, but its roughly half the size as the dragon lair with many large crystal rocks and 3 with princesses within. " img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/AxeMental/DungeonMap15-1.jpg"Ermaniric, please feel free to look at this map, as surely you will want to become aquanted with the underground river we go to explore." says the halfling. He hands you the map to review. If the group agrees a party goes and recovers that version, securing it in the main keep courtyard.

Calhagn agrees to help recover one of the princesses, as he wants to take a look at the other two as well.

Tiberious will speak quitely with the Yellow Wizard and Subdolus (out of hearing range of the new monk) "This Cain fellow is of the same order we just battled. Keeping him around will lead to nothing but disaster as he will likely strike at the group when it is weakest and flee. I suggest we give him the follwoing choice (1) swear to his master that he will await the returning group back at town for whatever kung fu showdown is to take place or (2) we slay him on the spot"
Tiberious awaits what some of the others think.

"Perhaps Sogothan can read his thoughts, so we can learn more about him," mutters Cadellin.

Ermanaric, being left alone with Cain, decides to ask him a question that has been on his mind since the day he and the monk left: "I wonder... just why did lawful King Grime send YOU along to act as my guide? I would've preferred a more respectable scout to say the least. But I am not one to question his will, be it as noble as it is."

(OOC: NPCing for Semaj's Sogathan until he gets freed up....hopefully I won't kill him).
Sog nods at Cadellin, and quietly sneaks off to the side, putting on the strange elvish crown. After a few moments the cleric returns to Cadellin's side and wispers. "A good idea, but no luck. This Monk seems to have the ablity to block my probing, I got something for a moment about needing to find something important to his master...but lost it. I only hope he didn't detect me". Looking a bit worried, "what should we do with this monk Cadellin? Tiberious thinks perhaps we should off him".
Ermanaric, in the mean time, walks up to the pale skinny monk his shirt off revealing the ugly Yellow Tounge on his chest. He first attempts to ignore his question, but after a moment speaks, "Eeeehhhh, my frrrrriennnnnnd Ermy.......I zzeeee you don't trust meee, yes? The king knows not of meeeee, my Master Chung wazzz the one who sent meeee to the Stuart of Grime, so that I might offer my serves as a scout. The Stuart is close...close to my Master. " The monk takes out a mushroom from a small leather pouch and carefully scoops out some spores from its fins, snorting them loudly.
"You zzzzeeeeee my friend.........I have travelled theze roads several times before, and I new of this....location......of thizzzz keeeep. I alsooo know," he then glances around with shifty eyes "I'm the only one who willll survive....perhaps you will toooo, if you heed my instructions and do what I tell you, yes?
Within theze walls lives and breaths a spawn of the yellow tounge. It still livvves I can feeeel it near. Whennnn it acts upon ussssssssssssss all will die save I. If you follow me, I will protect you as well. " The bald monastic smiles a wide grin and narrows his eyes, "tell no one what I've told you, yessssssss"? There is great reward in it for you."
Cal, Ruinbottle, Smythus and Subdolus take one of the horses and travel through the dungeon encountering nothing of consequence on the way back to the dragon lair. When you arrive you find the dragon body still radiating a since of dread and evil...even in death. The room with the crystals is unchanged. Ruinbottle identifies the version of the princess the Yellow Wizard had identifide as the most likely "real version" and it is carried back to the main group without incident. The thieves hide it carefully with the rest of the treasure, while Smythus attempts one last time to remove the magical crystal that surrounds her.
"We should make haste to find the prince, and learn how to save the princess. My heart weeps for the poor girl". Smythus drops to his knees and looks in at the lovely princess for a moment...longing in his old eyes.
What would the party like to do now?

Subdolus replies to Tiberious, " I trust noone who is so quickly so close to Smythus, especially a yellow tongued jackel. I think we need to deal with him before we do anything else and I have no objection to shortening his life expectancy as I am sure he would shorten ours given half a chance."

"I will not have any part in this. You are a craven lily-livered swine, and I shall have nothing to do with you."
Ermanaric turns to the party and shouts: "The monk has something important that he wishes to tell us."

"IIIIeyezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz no not what Ermy speaks of. Ieyezzzzzzzzz think"
The bald ematiated yet muscular monk casually smiles widely in a "V" while he takes a pinch full of spores again, and snorts loudly...almost pompusly" the poor boy hit his head on a rock when he fell earlier....you seeeeeeeeeee Ermy speaks nonsense. I only wish to thank you for the hospitality. Part of that hospitality "taking out a glass vial (from a hard leather belt pouch) filled with a glowing puss-yellow liquid that seems to move about on its own "I trusssssssssssst that we can all be friendly" he holds the vile up between his thumb and index finger...........yesssssssssssssssssssssssss I'd hate to drop this!" "So whom here has the ring, Smythus says you found a stolen Yellow Tounge artifact held by some monks posing as members of the Yellow Tounge Guild?" He stands. "The ring issss of no use to you my friends....hand it here".

Sub believes this monk to be "high" from the fungus spores he's sniffing, yet seems atuned. You have managed to MS and HIS while Ermaniric talked with the monk, however he is aware you are around (though not sure where, you have moved up to his left and back), so a backstab won't be possible, you don't think. I need to see what Tiberious has in mind, what he chooses to do might be critical.
Does anyone else wish to do anything.
OOC: SKA
This is a reminder of what you guys turned up in the Master Monks Quarters (from day 13): -START
"The door opens smoothly into a wide hall 15' tall, going 40 feet before opening into a dark room up ahead. You think you'll investigate that area first, but are distracted by a human sized secret door left open to the left. Glancing in through the secret door you see a 30x30 irregular room which appears to have been the monks quarters. (I'll assume you guys search this first). Immediately noticed are leather-human shaped dummys hanging from cords (like punching bags), wooden targets (like giant dart boards) filled with throwing stars, darts and daggers (20 stars, 15 darts and 15 daggers), and bed mats weaved of grass for the female monks. A "Masters Chair"(made of polished rare bamboo) sits against a far wall. A careful search by the group finds 32 copper pieces amongst the female monks belongings. Subdolus finds a bottle of poison (20 doses) hidden in a compartment within ghe bamboo great chair. He also detects a trap so that if the master's chair was sat in a large needle would shoot into the offenders back (more death poison). On the cieling is spotted a secret door (Subdolus natural ability detects on a 2). After much consternation you open it and find the Yellow Tounge Mastes personal quarters a tiny 6x8' alcove only 5 feet high sandwitched between two huge ceiling timbers (you realize the roof is above you). Within is a winter wolfs pelt he slept on worth 1,000 gp and 3 viles of extra healing. Also you find many strange monk artifacts (all of the yellow tounge) including many scrolls written in a language none understand, save Subdolus who can decode that they describe secret ritualistic training in the arts of the Yellow Tounge. Also are found food and drink only a monk would eat (grains, rice, purifide tea made of fungus, etc.). You also find a throwing star up here that glows when held. Surely a monk artifact of some sort.
Hidden inside a wax candle (Tiberious finds on 1-6) are 12 gems worth 12,000 GPs. They are 6 great emeralds and 6 rubbies. Also is found a ring melted into the wax with strange symbols etched into it Tiberious recognizes as related to the Yellow tounge order.
After several hours of searching the monks quarters, you return to the giant sized hall
-END
I believe Tiberious (SKA) carries all the Monk belongings.

Tiberious has no intentions of giving the ring to the Yellow Tongue monk.
Tiberious will (while invisible still) approach the our wizard and quitely whisper into his ear: "Can you cast a slow spell or a web onto this monk?"
Tiberious will await the wizard's reply.
What are the two new fighters doing at this point?

What are the two new fighters doing at this point? Calhagn is off, along with Ruinbottle, Smythus and Subdolus, to retrieve one of the princesses. Just in case that silly crown/helm/beanie of eavesdropping is in use, Calhagn is debating, in his head, whether Smythus returns from this short trip, alive or dead.
