Sogathan wispers: "yes Tiberious, and not just run of the mill magic either (+2 basically), if its one of the more powerful beasties of hell... which I believe this is. " Sog also says no damage was done to the creature, that was what he read from Moths mind and what he might expect given he didn't have a magical weapon. Sog can't seem to locate the mind of the devil and is afraid to push it, lest he be detected.
Smythus walks over and tries to peer through the ice but it is far to thick (at least a foot) and then walks back.
With a serious look "I think we should leave this denzien alone, we don't know what forces it could hale." He then allows a smile to cross his face for a moment, "or perhaps we could offer this devil a gift for its help. We have found many lovely jewels to bargain with. And then of course there are the souls of those scoundrals back in the cage. Instead of just killing them outright, we could make a trade." Smythus looks around for someone to offer their opinion on his idea.

Subdolus responds in sarcastic fashion, "Sure lets make a deal with a devil, heck if we are going to deal with him lets find out what an elder cleric might be worth in trade."

"There is nothing evil if our purpose is to serve a greater good. I understand your reservation but as a THIEF I'd hope you'd be a little more open to different ideas". Smythus walks off in a huff to the back of the group.
"Whatever we do we should do it quickly" says the wizard.

"Might I suggest we leave until we have a better plan. We can go investigate the other area and hope this thing stays behind its wall."

The group retreats up the hall and away from the frozen wall, the scouts in front and the fighters protecting the casters. As they approach halfway down the main hall (the one your boat is on) the scouts notice a noise 30 feet ahead moving in their direction. Another tapping sound approaches from behind also 50 feet distant and closing. The hair on your arms and the backs of your necks sticks up and your skin crawls with fear as extreme evil approaches (Ruinbottle is paralyzed with fear and drops to the ground quivering and attempting to hide.
Light shone forward and back only reveals moving shadows against the walls. The group is under attack (as you hear something rushing in toward you). Initiative: The group roles a 1 monsters a 2. appearing from invisibility are 2 horrid bone devils (shouted out by Smythus) raising huge barbed weapons made from the rib bones of some enormous beast of hell. Their sunken milky eyes reside in huge skulls covered with a wisp of rinkly flesh, putrid breath fills the air before them, and their backsides have tails something akin to a scorpians.
Tiberious, who is invisible still, is somehow spotted and hit by the one coming from the front with its odd weapon. He manages to not become pinned by it but takes 7 pts of damage. The beast raises its tail and attempts to sting the White Dragon priest, but misses. Zargon in the back raises his shield and blocks the odd bone weapon knocking him back, but is hit with the tail doing 4 pts of damage. He fails to save vs its venom and looses 3 pts of strength. The devil laughs again rushing forward causing shivers up your spines (but all are not effected by the supernatural fear save Ruinbottle). The group is surrounded on both sides, and the beasts are pushing you in. Your counter attack, let me know what you do.

Seeing they are being pinched Subdolus will help press the attack on the same devil as Zargon. Hopefully the wizard can slow the other then fry it with his wand and missles.

Subdolus, you actually can't as your next to Tiberious (the one coming from the front). Subdolus attacks with both dagger and skimitar but both bounce off the boney exterior. Tiberious uses his magical daggers stepping back as fighters move in. Both completely bounce off (1,2). Zargon's blow is deflected and Calhagan's sword bounces off as well, but the massive (18+ str) Emeranic delivers a devistating strike to the one in the front for 12 pts.
Sogathan casts heal and hits Zargon for 5 restoring him to normal. Smythus attacks the one near Zargon but inflicts no damage. Miles uses a phantasmal force spell toward the one attacking Zargon, creating the illusion of a cave in on top of it. Despite magic resistance the creature fails and acts as if he is crushed taking 15 pts damage. However the illusion does not last and it is free to act next round. Cadellin considers for a moment and casts slow on the one in the back, incredibly the creatures magic resistance fails and the beast is slowed.
Initiative: 5,5 simo The beast in the front attempts to summon but fails! It also attacks with its hook and tail aiming for Emeranic, 3,6 both attacks miss!
The group may now act. Zargon swings twice (6,7) at his again but can't seem to break through its hard boney skin. Calhagan also misses, but Emeranic hits for 9. Smythus casts a spell at the one in the back but it fizzles out!!! Cadellin casts MM at the one in the front: All 3 hit for 7. The one in the front is looking badly hurt. Miles casts a color spray at the one behind him but that spell also disipates when it reaches it.
What actions do Tiberious and Subdolus wish to take? You could attempt to move out of its range or attempt to run past it down the hall.

I'll assume you both attack the front target then. Both of the monks dagger of returning bounce off, but Subdolus hits with both of his weapons, inflicting 10 more points of damage.
Initiative group 4 Monsters 6
The slowed one in the rear attempts to summon, suddenly the lights in your lanterns and torches darkens and a cold breeze hits your faces. fazing in behind the one you fight is a fresh Bone Devil its hook prepared to capture prey to drag back to hell. It attacks Zargon again, missing with its hook, but stings him again for 4 and poisoning him with more venum reducing his strength by 2 more points. The new one can't yet attack.
The one in the front is suddenly joined by what appears to be a white dragon, the devil runs behind it for protection. All 3 in front see this as an illusion and do not take any damage from its breath attack. Also they get free back attacks at the devil. Tiberius hits with one dagger for 4, while Emeranic chops off the creatures head in a single blow.
Counter attack: Zargon is feeling pretty weak but swings again, this time hitting for 13 pts. Calhagan misses with a 5, Miles casts another phantasmal force on both targets both resist it.

OOC: Does the death of the devil dispell the illusion?
Subdolus will continue to attack the devils seeing that running back to the ice wall is probably not a good idea.

OOC: Both devils are now at the rear of the group (toward the statue room and Ice Demon) and one is slowed.
Yes, the White Dragon in the front disappears upon the death of the devil. Do you wish to start heading to the back (to help Zargon and Calhagan), or do you wish to help move the group forward (away from the Statue room with the ice demon). I assume Emeranic is also trying to get back to the action to help Zargon (who's strength is starting to really give out)?
Right now your group is exactly half way down the hall (the one you battled the gargoyle in).

Subdolus will move in to help fight the devils. He will try to focus on the one that is not slowed as it is a bigger threat.

OOC: When Calhagn grows up, he hopes to someday to be able to actually hit one of these devils. Calhagn continues to cool the devils with the drafts created by his sword swings.

Tiberious will try to stay out of reach and continue to throw his daggers of returning. (Axe, baby, don't forget the incredible power of the +3 damage done by such a high level monk!)

I assume Emeranic is also trying to get back to the action to help Zargon (who's strength is starting to really give out)? You assume correctly. I will charge the one that isn't slowed if at all possible.
