I have subtracted the entrance fee from the group funds. I'll have the contents of your haul posted later. For now post any intent you have for your immediate stay.

Rest & Recuperation for old Krago. Do we want to sit him out so the rest can return to the caves or wait another week?

Gorthakh is inclined to suggest a week's rest.
Those goblins will be on high alert for a while after a successful raid on their territory. Gorthakh is minded to recommend that we select a different cave entrance for next week's raid, giving the goblins more time to cool off. Since we've already killed some of the orcs, it would be nice to see if Rendolf can track the correct route to the orc lair.

Is it possible the goblins will leave if we killed their Ogre leader? Or are the Ogres not always their chiefs?

Finrod asks Darian to stop being a little girl and open the map case. He then walks 30 feet back and watches to see what happens. Until then Finrod uses his considerable charisma to try and build the moral of the Mercs up. He reassures them in any way realistically possible (making no false promises).

The mercs aren't particularly impressed by Finrod's reassurances. Clyde steps up to speak for the group.
"You promised we would find better equipment but we did not. You can't seriously expect us to go back after the casualties we took. We need better armor."

Finrod puts up his hand "hear me out....the group realizes your losses, and did our very best to prevent them. We were in as much of the thick of it as you" Finrod signals Melora over to help in the negotiations, hoping they might not want to loose face infront of a women. "I promise you we'll do everything we can to improve your armor and weapons, for now lets not make any hastey judgements...lets see what kind of financial situation were really in". "BTW, Melora was just saying how impressed she was with your fighting spirit." Hopefully she'll take the cue and start talking while I check on the split.

Darian states to Clyde, " Your men, as Finrod says, fought bravely and you will be given your due. Once we have our take figured out there may be some for more armour and equipment, but thehalf-orc will likley make that call."
Darian will then wait until he is alone with Finrod (or any other PCs) (no mercenaries) and will open the scroll container after looking for any traps.

How many mercs are left -- 3? In that case, after selling the keg of brandy for 40 g.p. we could easily buy these guys a suit of scale armor each (@45 g.p.) and have 155 g.p. left over to split up. I'll leave it up to you guys if you think these guys are worth the investment. The Master mentioned in one of the other threads that the scroll contains cleric spells (boo! hiss!) so it's no use to me. My vote is to give it to Gerto.
Also worth mentioning, I received a note from the Castellan of the keep in response to the report I gave of our earlier expedition expressing great interest. My intention is to send him an additional report detailing this latest foray in hopes that the response might be sufficient to get us some help from that direction, or at least an official audience. Does anybody have any compelling reason why I shouldn't do this?

Darian ask Melora if he is awarwe of what the "take" would be for any treasure gotten with the help of the Castellan's men?

Finrod suggests Melora get any agreement she works out in writing and signed. We might also ask for the use of weapons or armor if men at arms are not available.

Let's get scale armour for the mercs and save the remaining money towards next month's upkeep.

I'd also like to restock on oil (2 flasks made into bombs), and maybe others should consider this as well. ALso, might need to stock on previsions.

I'm okay with giving the armor to the mercs... but not until I get XP!
