Smythus claims one of the empty stalls for himself and hangs a thick canvas up blocking view. Inside he lights candles and a small fire (making it warm by comparison). You occasionally here chants and smell incense.
Sog casts detect evil but does not detect it. Sog is aware however, that there are ways to hide alignment if someone wants to badly enough.

Subdolus asks Sogathan to try probing the older clerics mind while he is chanting, hopefully giving a clue what forces he is chanting to. At the same time Subdolus cautiously works his way up to the stall. He listens to determine the direction Smythus is facing. When he is sure he knows how he is sitting he will move into a position that he is not likely to be detected from and peek in on the cleric. Scimitar drawn of course just incase he does not like what he sees.

Day 13

You detect communication with some spiritual force, some sort of forced binding is going on.
Subdolus peeks in (after finding the right angle) (MS 24, HIS 43 but good enough) and sees the cleric has set up a pentagram with the frost giant skull sitting in the middle of it, all candles lit. As you watch you see the skull suddenly turn to dust. The cleric quickly moves to it and sweeps it into a pouch.
Sog you feel a since of satisfaction, and then the surface thoughts of prayer in praise of his gods. You didn't detect preying to any demonic force or anything persey evil. Rather something akin to binding or controlling "outside" forces, almost the way a magician might (rather then a cleric). You have heard of Necromancers, clerics who are also magicians...that combine these two brands of "magic" into something unique. Though, they are not all evil, none are good...and all require communication with evil beings now and then (though sometimes against those beings will). In otherwords, there are necromancers who "sell their soul to the devil" for glory now, and there are those who "bind and bend the minions of hell to do their bidding...against there will...and thus can remain nuetral (though they play a dangerous game). You don't know which sort Smythus might be, and your not certain he is a Necromancer in any case. As you know almost nothing of them. It might be he only knows a few of their strange spells. All you are certain of is that you detected a brand of prayer you have never encountered before in a cleric.
Smythus tucks the pouch inside his robe and walks out almost hitting Subdolus in the process (but the nimble thief is not detected). "Ahhh, I wonder what our halfling might be making for dinner. For once relative comfort and a fire. " Ruinbottle doesn't mind cooking, he rather enjoys it. However, he doesn't care to be treated in that manner...not any longer. His days as a kitchen lad a mear few weeks earlier, might as well be an eternity. He is now a hardened adventurer and glears back at the pompus cleric. "The halfling wonders how wise it would be to make such a smell". Says Ruinbottle.
