OOC:- I think we need to return to that first dungeon - the druidic one. There's something there that we don't understand, and we need to understand it.

I agree. Not much else to add, besides that should be our first stop. Maybe slay an orc patrol group if we can to thin their numbers. I asked the curate about the lever, but I doubt he can offer much help. We might have to go the the dungeon and station our party in groups in the major rooms, then pull the lever and see if anything happens. If not, we repeat until we have observed the entire dungeon in both lever positions.

Well with the loss of Poppy, we'll definitely need another fighter. Probably better make that two. Those orcs almost slaughtered us completely.
So shall we try to hire men-at-arms or just recruit some additional players or have us just play additional characters?
MisterE do you want additional players in your game?
As for the Druidic cave, I'm all for exploring that, though we have to be wary of those winged beasts. I'm still intrigued by the lever as well but don't have a lot of ideas.
Edited for spelling and clarity

I was thinking about recruiting new players myself. I was going to ask the group about it, but now most of them are MIA for a while.
I'll think i send a PM to northrundicus, see if he still wants to play.

Gerto suddenly forsakes the cloth and takes up a sword! j/k I agree we need more muscle (fighters). I don't mind how we do it, whether it is hirelings, additional characters, or additional players. Of course, the first two mean more work, either for the DM or a PC, while the third involves recruiting a new player and having them roll up a character, which may take some time.

North said he would take some time to think about it. Do guys want to set out for the caves now? We can add north to the group later if need be.

If the group's fully rested and satisfied that we have learned all that we need about the druid caves, then I don't see any obstacle to setting out at once.

I'm back (and I think so is SKA)...so if everyone else is ready lets get moving out.
I'll load up on entangles this time, and I think I have a befriended dog (Mistere did you cetch that post?) as well as the owl from the forest.
We might want to pick up some more oil and take the time to make them into oil bombs (and pack them away safely). Anyone know if we have any spending money left? Maybe we should do a role call or something.

Remeber, Finrod will have already used up one spell slot to befreind the dog. It will take a while to train him, but he will follow you around.

At this point, Gerto has 1 oil flask, as well as 26 sp, after restocking the items used in the last trip. However, rations cost 3gp for a week, and I ate all of mine the past 2 weeks game time. That leaves me with 1gp and no food for the trip. Does anyone else have any food/money? Or are we all broke/starving?

Can I cast speak with animals to speed things up and teach the dog some basic commands, (attack, defend, track). Also, I'd like to tell the dog not to bark in the wilds as this would alert guards etc. Is this possible?
Perhaps I could spend a day working with it before we head out?

If you want to spend another day the party will have to pay for the inn again, althougth the common room will suffice for now.

If we can afford it and the group agrees we do it. It will be worth having a growling guard and the ability to track. I realize this isn't charm mammal (and the dog may run if it gets really scared), but I think the dog will come in handy. I will also bring along dog treats to reward it.
If this extra day at base camp takes place without event lets head out. (commands: guard who I point to, track sent pointed to or shown, attack who pointed at and to retreat if signalled. I also teach the dog his human name: "Flash".

I have 20 some silver and 1 days food. I can't afford a room, only 3 more days rations. I don't know about the rest of the group, but seeing as how we had to share rations before, how is it that anyone has any money/food? We need some cash, I don't think we can waste another day.
