Is Calhagn just not getting in any good blows, or does his sword seem unable to bite into the beast's hide?

OOC: If noone has any other ideas I would keep on hacking.

Tiberious will move backwards as he throws both magic handaxes.

I'll assume the group presses on with the attack then. Cal gets his double attack this round, both blows hitting doing 20 pts damage total (and crreating cracks throughout the entire body). Ermanaric misses with a 2. Subdolus hits with his scimitar for 6, while both of Tiberious's magical axes bounce off the glass-stone cat. Sog's snake crushes for 3 pts damage, and Sog attacks but misses with a 3.
Initiative: Group 6 monster 6 (simo) I'll have the monster go first. The stone cat focuses on Ermanaric this time biting him for 14 pts damage and scratching for 2. The fighter shakes off the magical paralysis effects (saving with a 19).
The group counters with both fighters hitting for 20 total, and Subdolus hitting for 8.
Initiative: group 6 monster 5. The monks axes finally make contact and cause a large crack in the obsidian cats mid section for 12 total, also both fighters hit for 18 pts, finally Subdolus hits the creature in the midsection causing it to explode in a million pieces across the floor.
Sogs snake staff crawls away bleeding a bit from missed blows and the breaking of the obsidean beast, but reforms into the staff for its master to pick up.
Within 30 minutes both fighters shake off the paralysis and can move. Does Fletcher wish to describe where he's been? The group notices the secret door sealed itself after the cat jumped out.
Also, do you wish to check back up on the survivors (still waiting in the courtyard you presume)

Ermanaric is quite beat up, having only 3 HP left. He suggests taking a temporary rest.

Do you want to rest in here, or go back to the courtyard (your not sure what happened to your driver, the last you saw he was strung up and being tortured).

Fletcher will show them the loot. He will also mention that there are some paintings up there he would like to investigate after everyone is healed up.

Zargon's beat up a bit, too, so resting is definitely on his agenda.

Fletchers Treasure: 1. A ring made of copper taken from a elf skeletons hand. (ahh at times like this you really miss your Wizard friend still in stone form)
2. A dagger that glows green when held (Subdolus looks at it, elvin script etched into it reads "to fly as a bird fine Faeyer recall, but only but once a day" (so fly once a day, command word Faeyer, not sure of the to hit/damage bonus but seems about a +2+2). It also has a green emerald on it.
3. A shortsword of sharpness (works the same as a normal sword of sharpness accept only on medium sized or smaller).
4. A suite of elven chain, priceless. It doesn't fit anyone but Subdolus.
The 6 paintings are recovered by Fletcher and Subdolus (who risk it) and brought back to clean up and study later.
So who wants to take what, I assume Fletcher wants first dibs? . The group briefly listens to Fletcher's description of what happened after Subdolus left him at the door, how when he entered the giantess kitchen, he found many dead bugbear obvious victims of the giant worm... how a dieing bugbear pointed to a spot high on the wall...how he tracked a remaining bugbear to a large cabinet and killed it...and how he investigated the spot on the wall that was pointed to revealing a secret entrance which lead to one of the cyclopean worm lairs.
OOC: To save time I'll cut and paste my PMs to Mistere (just assume Fletcher describes this all to you)
The spot appears to be near the entrance to the kitchen (NW corner) and now that you examine the west wall you can see holes in the stone as if a short wooden stairway might have once lead up to a landing since removed. You pull over a giant sized stool (with much effort) and climb up. From this distance you spot a slit in the stone as if a secret door is located here. pushing at it reveals it moves in or out and automatically pulls shut when passed threw. You pull yourself up and enter into a smaller room 10x20 or so with many old portraits(6 remaining) hanging on the walls covered in webs and dust so they can't be made out without cleaning them. Another half dozen are scattered about badly cut or torn, and from the strange prints (cut marks on the floor and cieling), its clear the cyclopean worm creature has been using this as a way to move about the dungeon (as many prints lead in and out, some very old). Inside the room you find bits of skeletons of all sorts including some recent giantess bone as well as human and bugbear. The floor is covered in a fungus muck and many old pieces of furniture and what look to be books and scrolls are ruined covered and fed on by this strange fungus. A passage in the center of the west wall looms ahead (small rats scurry about) with tracks of the worm coming in and out of it, do you wish to investigate. If so what light source do you want to use? After a quick search of the room and dusting things off your certain this must have been the chamber of elves (given the size of the furniture, its craftsmanship, and from the paintings (cleaned off revealing masterful scenes of the forest and of elf nobility...all do damaged to be worth anything).
You investigate the hall beyond and hit a pit trap 15 feet in or so. Luckily you save and a pit trap opens up above the river below (you can even hear the water moving rapidly). Continuing 20 feet forward you pass 2 bedrooms to either side (the worm it seems doesn't enter these). Delicate poster beds and expensive furniture filled both 20x20 rooms, a quick search reveals nothing of value except a platinum comb and a silver mirror of elvish make that glows when looked into . It has a closing cover that snaps shut and when opened acts as a stand (a nobel woman's quarters you think). I'll assume you take these things. Going another 20 feet down the hall you enter a 30 foot round room, its furniture now torn up and huge piles of guano like fungus in a circle (like a nest. On the ceiling in here is a large crack only 2 feet wide. THe beast has many claw marks that lead to this spot where it apparently squeezed down in size to travel threw. You can only assume this must lead to other passages it moves about, perhaps caverns deeper in the mountain.
Studying the furnishings you believe that at one time this was an eating hall (from the broken table and ceramic dishes). A door in the center of the east wall opens into a small 14' square study with planking floor and walls (this room is seems undisturbed). Sitting in an old stone chair next to a stone desk is the skeleton of an elf dressed in what was once fine silks (mere webbings of material and gold thread floating in the breezeless room). standing up Next to the skeleton is a suite of elven chain hanging on a dressing stand (your eyes light up at this). It has on a ring and on a belt wears a fine dagger still in its sheathing. Also a shortsword lies on the ground near the armor. Bits of metal and bone lie about but seem to have little value. Due you wish to take these things? The dagger has a jeweled handle and a large emerald at the base of its blade near the hilt. It glows green when it is held and on its handle are etched birds with a ribbon of Elvin script around it.
The short sword is very light. When you go to put it in a spare sheath you see it cuts threw it. After a little testing you see this blade is extremely sharp and cuts threw practically anything with ease. Searching the ground you find its mated sheath and put it away without damaging it. A most unnaturally sharp sword indeed!
You grab the rest of the things and go to leave. Suddenly (just as you near the doorway) behind you you hear movement. glancing back you see what you had thought to be a broken overturned obsidian statue of a panther (covered in cave in debris from the ceiling) begin to crawl out and scan around with orange glowing eyes (still in stone form). You quickly determine this is likely a guardian of some sort responding to your taking of the elves belongings. Your not surprised due to the cat having to crawl out of debris, you win initiative, what do you wish to do (you could run and attempt to close the old wooden door, turn and fight, or some other action). Role for dex, save 16 and you make it. The door is banded but given its age you don't think it'll hold up forever, what do you wish to do now? This stone cat seems deadly and fixated on getting at you. Closing the door and sticking some furniture is only a temporary solution at best and you start booking it out (careful to avoid the trap.). Just as your about to escape that stone panther breaks threw and charges. You make the secret door when its only 10 feet away. Once you push the door you jump downward, seeing your friends around you as you land (save 20, nice landing).
Group combines again.
END ==========================================================
The group quickly retreats back to the safety of the keeps courtyard finding the freed prisoners extremely thankful, though in very poor condition. You are told your driver was beaten to death after they couldn't find anymore hidden treasure, and then ripped apart and eaten by the hungry bugbear.
two Dwarves introduce themselves as Parador and Velhiem, both minors and fighters of some ability (4th both) they tell of being captured while prospecting, 2 of their companions were killed in the battle. They hold swords and wear smatterings of armor taken from the bugbear and fitted as best as possible. Both hold swords at a shifty fellow Tidius Lean, a tall balding half orc in robes who has acted as the Bugbear cleric for several weeks. Tidius informs the group he is a 4th level cleric, and would be happy to help in healing any injuries. He also says he was taken prisoners like the rest (in his case captured on route to the port city of Grime on urgent business).
Both dwarves swear their loyalty to you for surely saving their lives and offer their services as fighters and expert dungeneers.
The rest of the group huddle together near a fire eating what little food they can find.
What does the group wish to do with these fellows.

Fletcher waves the shortsword around cutting threw wooden tables like butter and stone like bread. This wonderful blade will come in handy you think.
Does anyone wish to try out the dagger or put on the ring? Also, does Subdolus wish to try out the elf chain (or do you stick with the elf armor you already have)?

Subdolus will try on the armor to see if it seems any different than what he is wearing. If not he will put his old armor back on and return the new to the treasure pile.

This elven armor seems somehow finer and lighter if possible with unusual nobel designs inlayed (the sort you might expect an elvish prince or king to wear). You suspect its worth a dragons treasure, and may hold other "qualities" not obvious upon inspection (though it might become known upon use) your shocked it was found in this dank dungeon. Whoever owned it must have been very important in the elvish community.
BTW, this sort of armor doesn't change to fit so your the only one that can use it. I assume you stick your old elf chain (still wonderful stuff) in your back pack (and I also assume the group considers this all group treasure).
What about the dagger and ring? Does someone wish to put it on and try doing stuff with it?
