Finrod talks to some of the regular residents around the keep. Bronson occasionally visits the keep for a few days at a time looking for mercenary work, usually with the caravans. He usually asks for a lot because of his experience. Bronson hasn't caused any trouble at the keep, so he isn't as distrusted like most mercenaries, although no one Finrod talks to is intimately acquainted with Bronson.
Since the group will be in the keep for the next week, it shouldn't be to hard find him before they leave.

Darian ask the innkeeper if he would be allowed to post a message for Bronson to contact the group.
Darian will also look about the keep for any thief type characters. If possible, Darian will try use a thieves' cant signal to identify another thief if he suspects he has found one.

Finrod will spend his time training his dog with hand signals (refresher course) using speak with animals to aid him in the process. He also speaks with birds to see if any will agree to accompany the group once it heads out into the wilds. He offers the birds payment of seed and pieces of bright costume jewelery if he can find any, or at least some silver pieces.
In the mean time he also asks if there is need of anyone that would like to hire me to speak with their animal (perhaps to help train a horse or dog...maybe the malitia). He also asks around if anyone in town is of the druidic religion. If so he will approach them for "contributions" to aid in my religious endeavors.
Once Bronson is located Finrod will clean up and go to meet him.

Darian stares blankly for a moment at the unspeaking Bronson.
"I see you are a man of few words. I shall try to be brief. What say you to ofering your sword arm to our group as it explores and raids the local Caves of Chaos? All treasure would be shared equally, of course."
Darian awaits a response.

Realizing his injuries will show anyway, Finrod jumps to his feet and smiles. "Ahhh excellent, yes do please come in, and if you don't mind I'll close and lock this door, too many ears around this place". Finrod moves to a table and offers Bronson a chair sitting himself. I point to my injuries, "On our last venture out I was unlucky enough to get myself shot with several orc arrows, and resulted in everyone having to come back to the keep, but perhaps this was fortunate, as we have met you Bronson. I am Finrod, a professonal adventurer, and druid now familiar with these woods. our group has avoided and defeated many humanoid of the forest with my help using animal scouts and powerful druidic magic, ". I attempt to use my charm and magnatism to win his favor.
I run down the names, races and composition of the group pointing them out as I go, and mention in detail our raids into the caves, hinting that we have killed many and likely softened up their forces. I also exagerate our treasure a bit, but insist we are close to hitting the jackpot, "I think this next trip out will be the one we sieze their main treasure. I also let him know of our losses, figuring he'll have heard of the death of the mercs already. I don't want to lie at all, figuring he's really testing us for honesty, loyalty and perhaps alignment.
"We've also found the location of another dungeon hidden in the forest, and we feel this dungeon actually has even greater potential for treasure, as we have found a secret entrance within which has stayed closed for countless centuries, leading into to the belly of the earth. Infact, many of the statuary and glyphs indicate it was built by those who worshiped nature, druids such as myself. If you prove your trustworthyness on this trip to the Caves of Chaos, we will take you with us to this other hidden dungeon. Looking at the rest of the group "If anyone else would like to jump in please do". I then let him ask his questions while I fill a few cups of wine and offer him one.

Once I have given him and others a chance to talk, I mention we have also recently added to our group the assistance of the good cleric Sydney and his 2 students. "These 3 will be coming along as well, do you know anything about them which might be unfavorable...everyone seems to like Sydney, but we'd appreciate any information you might have.

I haven't meet Sydney personally. If he has such a good reputation he might be an asset, although with four new additions (myself included) the party is now somewhat untested, isn't it.
I have no doubt that there is some great wealth in the caves although, it may take some time to locate considering the size of the caves. So i believe a good faith deposit may be in order. Perhaps to the magnitude of 500 gold?

"Before we discuss money, lets here a little about you. Are you a fighter? Have you been on adventures underground? Just how experianced are you?" Finrod sips his wine and rests back in his chair, patting his dog while smiling at Bronson in a friendly manner (I want him to see us as equals as much as possible).

Yes, i am a fighter. I have had over 5 years experience in mercenary work, both a soldier and as a leader. I always ask for an advance, especially when the deal is simply a split of possible treasure.

dWell, I can't blame you for asking for an advance, especially someone with the experiance you have. But the truth is, we simply don't have such a fund. Infact, what treasure we have collected has been used wisely on better armor and men at arms, and this occured before we met up with you. These are dangerous times, and all I can say is that in such dangerous times you couldn't ask for a more loyal and professional team then what you find here. In time I'm sure you would call all of us friends. Until then perhaps we could offer a better split or an extra 500 ontop of an equal split. Another person who could vouge for our professionalism is one Melora, a magician in town who ventured out with us on several occasions.
And don't forget the hidden druidic dungeon we found in the forest that I mentioned earlier. If you join us now, and prove yourself loyal we will bring you there as well as a partner. Of course, we will reward you in some way for your superior experiance as a soldier to make it worth your while. I do hope you will join us, as you seem an honorable person of good character.

Bronson gets up to leave
I wish you all luck in your quest, but i don't believe the rewards are enough for the time and risk. Good day sirs.

OOC: Master, does Darian see a purse he could possibly pick on this Bronson fellow?
