Finrod and Darian are not able to hit Sydney with their daggers; he turns around and begins to cast a spell. Finrods dog follows, attempting to bite Sydney. The acolytes attempt to stop the dog, but he runs right pass them and bites Sydney for 4 points of damage, breaking the spell. Sydney and the acolytes begin to retreat through the secret door.
Gerto is hit for three points of damage, rendering him unconscious before he can cast his spell. One of the mercenaries is isolated and killed by the goblins; another is wounded for three points of damage. Gorthack escapes further damage, but does not strike a goblin this round.
So after round three, Darian and Finrod are unhurt. Krago is unconscious but stabilized. Gerto is loosing hp. One of the mercenaries is dead and the other is loosing HP. Sydney and his acolytes are retreating, and there are 6 goblins remaining.

OOC: Master, are Sydney and the acolytes now behind the group since they ran away through the secret door? ie. goblins in front and Sydney behind us?

Gorthakh yells at Finrod to pull Gerto and Krago out through the secret door. Gorthakh will protect Finrod with his shield while this is done.

Finrod follows the half orcs suggestion post haste (doing his best to watch for thrown spears and the like). He also orders his dog to protect Gorthak (perhaps diverting attacks).
(OOC how many entrances come into this room (is there another in range), also, did I spot any other secret doors when I entered. I'm not thrilled escaping in the same direction Sidney took off in, but if we must we must). Finrod suggests to anyone listening, to perhaps prepare oil to cover our escape through the secret passage. Burning oil might buy us some time.

Darain will draw his longsword in one hand and a dagger in the other, and will go through the secret door first.
Darian will attempt (to the best of his ability) to move silently and hide in shadows to surprise Sydney and the acolytes if they are waiting in ambush of the group. Darian wants to secure the secret door area and prevent a rear attack and ambush.
Darian will yell out if attacked to warn the group that the clerics are attacking from the rear.

Krago lays upon the ground - unconcious and oblivious to the danger around him.

There are two other exits to the room you are fighting, one west, one east. None leading to the north, which is the direction you came from. You don't see any secret passages.

Darian observes Sydney and his acolytes running straight out of the caves and towards the west.
Finrod drags Krago and Gerto through the secret door and out to the cave entrance. Gerto looses a point of damage, as his wounds have not yet been binded. Gorthack and the remaining mercenary, Clyde, follow, fighting their way through the cave. Gorthack manages to strike down one of their pursuers; another one pulls back after he is hit by Clyde. As the two are just about to get above ground Gorthak is hit. Gothack takes 6 points of damage, rendering him unconscious. Clyde manages to avoid further damage. Finrod’s dog is like wise stabbed; he takes five points and is unconscious as well.
Currently there are 4 goblins left pursuing the party out of the caves.

Darian will attempt to quickly move behind a tree or rock and wait for the goblins to run past him, at which point he will try to back stab with longsword and dagger any goblins he can.

Finrod will head at full speed for the closest set of trees or thick underbrush at which point he will cast an entangle spell on the persuing goblins. I direct the mercs to give me cover so that I can get off my spell.

Darien and Clyde attempt to keep the goblins at bay, but one manages to strike Finrod for 3 points of damage. Fortunately, this is just as he completes the entangle spell. The goblins are held fast by the spell, unfortunately, so are Darien and Clyde.
Gorthak and Gerto suffer another point of damage from their wounds.

OOC: So, my understanding is that only Finrod and Darian are up (the 2 mercs held), is that correct?
It is also my understanding that 1 goblin can be killed (assuming he is visible and in range) per round with distance weapons. So could daggers be used in this fashion? If so:
Finrod asks Darian to not step in the entangled area, and to quickly attack the goblins with his daggers (hopefully slaying them while there held). I think he has incredible dex bonus?
Finrod (also moving around the area of effect) will apply aid to whomever looks hurt worse first (Gorthak, Gerto) and then the other. I'll then bind the dogs wounds. After that I'll join Darian in the slaying of the goblins. If we can't kill the Goblins in this fashion I will use oil bombs and burn them to death (but only as a last resort, not wanting to make a smoke signal).
