Calhagan heads to a good sized port he knows of along the coast called Vandal, 500 miles south of Grime. The ship (still un-named btw) moves quickly threw the waters, and the crew (a miss-match of pirates, merchant marines and laymen who chose to stay with you (most x-slaves you rescued) seem to get along well enough.
No random encounters are run into along the way (save a few ships that keep their distance). Access to the Port of Vandalden is a 1/2 mile up a wide river called "The Alizern". The ship is mored and the PCs stand together for a good 20 minutes and just take it all in. It is a city of splendor and soil.
It is much larger then Grime and built on level ground (for the most part). It seems canals run through the city filled with barges moving goods back and forth between boats in the harbor (at least 100 your size) and many smaller.
The area near the worf is filled with more warehouses and taverns, while off in the distance you see climbing up into the sky large spires of various churches and government buildings (several covered in gold) and 2 huge statues of gods (their muscular torso's the only things visible from the port as their bodies are blocked by buildings). To the south end of the city you see a large castle up on a bluff.
Calhagan tells the group this city is home to around 20,000. It is the largest port city in the realm and controlled by King Jifus. The x-pirate sea captain hasn't been to this city in many years.
The crew take on supplies while the party splits up to find training.
OOC: Everyone has enough eaps to train save Zargon (who's getting close) but its not cheap.
Remove this amount from your recorded money. The cost is based on what your able to find in town. In my game it can be much less to train, but takes much longer. So in a year it might be 1/3 the cost (your paying for speed learning courses from the best basically). In reality, just a way to seperate you from your funds to keep you hungry:
Subtract
Fletcher -30K
Ermanaric -30K
The Yellow Wizard -20k
Tiberius -35k (go ahead and pick a spell of your choosing).
Calhagan -35k
Subdolus -22k
Sogathan -30k
Go ahead and role your new HPs at home with dice and then post them.
Zargon you keep your money and are more then half way in eaps to leveling. It takes you several weeks to get over the death of the princess. You have a feeling you may have ended up her prince had she lived.
Training takes 3 weeks more or less. The party agrees to meet up at the Iron Eagel Inn, which has nice rooms and a somewhat wild tavern near the warf with a view of your ship in port out the window.
3 weeks pass and the party meets up. After a great dinner and wonderful party (each member take off 3 GPs) the group needs to discuss what it wishes to do next? You could look around the city, search the area for local dungeons, head out to sea, etc.
