The 2 fighters check out the back of the giant thrown only to find the bugbear chief gone! You do hear some scrapes along the back wall (as if he's still searching for the secret way out). How do you wish to pin point his location to attack? OOC: How much space is there between the back of the throne and the wall?

"I'll go after the bugbear, watch out for that over-sized maggot!"

OOC: There's about 8 feet between the wall and the back of the giants thrown chair. The scraping sound (the bugbears plate or metal glove scraping the wall you think) is difficult to pin point due to the screaming bugbear and echo effect of the room. You could just start swinging out, or move up and down the wall to attempt to bump into the chief (or use some other method to determine his exact location).
I need to know what action Tiberious will take before I can continue the battle.

When it's his turn to act, Calhagn swears aloud for want of a sack of flour, and proceeds with sweeping attacks with his sword, as if cutting hay. These attacks will favor the wall side; the tip of this sword passes within inches of the stone.

Ermanaric will follow up on the opposite side of the room, meeting Cal in the middle if necessary. All the while swinging his sword in a like fashion.

Tiberious will throw the vial he found right in front of the one eyed worm creature---hoping the stone wall will be easier to hit and likely to break the vial. (and none of the PCs are by the creature yet )

The potion hits the floor emmitting a gas in a 15 foot radius around the head of the strange worm (monster save role 5) and the creature suddenly starts slowly pulling back into the hall before falling to the ground motionless (from the whistling noise you hear you think it may be asleep).
Initiative: Group 1 monsters 5
Moments before you reach the bugbear chief the secret door behind the throne pops open (role 2 in 1-6 for chief) and daylight can be seen coming threw. You hear clamering down the exit hall what do you wish to do?

Calhagn will bound down the stairs after the chief, and doesn't care if he collides with him.

Just before reaching the end of the passage (in site of the outside) you manage to smash into and knock down the fleeing chief. Your both a bit tangled but reach to your feet and prepare for battle. Initiative: 3, 3 Simo. The chief swings a massive axe at your head, its magical glow reveals dwarven ruins upon the ancient chipped blade (a 14) and the axe pops threw your armor and does a total of 10 pts damage. At the same moment your sword hits (role 14) for 9 pts damage. Ermanaric is right behind you, and Zargon close behind. Initiative: Monster 1 group 3. The monster is hit 4 times with your sword attacks, after inflicting 32 pts of damage the bugbear falls to the ground gutted and without a left arm.
I'll assume Tiberious and Subdolus kill the giant worm while it still sleeps (OOC: very lucky for you). You find a potion of invisibilty on the chief with 2 sips left. Also his battle axe (a dwarven masterpiece) and a potion of extra healing (marked). You also find 4 oil flask bombs and a bag full of human tounges.
The subchief (thief bugbear) has a potion of poison (Subdolus thinks this may have come from the same couldron of witches you passed in the forest as the unique glass sickly ingrediants seems identical). He also carries 3 more tube traps with loaded bolts all poisoned. He also has a magical club. The treasure is collected and counted. It seems 2 bags are still missing.
Nothing else of value is found in this room, do you want to head back to the kitchen area where you left Fletcher (he never showed up)?
PS who wants the battle axe (from swinging it around a bit and by its looks the fighters guess its likely better then +2 but it would take some research by a wizard or sage to pin point its exact qualities).

Calhagn will gather the stuff from the bugbear chief and return to the kitchen with the rest of the group. We can distribute the chief's stuff there, and Cal wouldn't object to holding onto the battle axe.
OOC: Axe, do you run the ticking clock on getting items identified?

Q: "OOC: Axe, do you run the ticking clock on getting items identified? "
I'm not familiar with that rule. I allow identification of a piece of magic whenever you have someone with that ability (and it usually costs more for more powerful or rare magic).
Game:
The group carefully collects the treasure (Cal hanging onto the impressive battle axe for the moment) and then carefully returns to the kitchen each member a bit worried about their new ranger friend. When they enter they find the carnage left behind by cyclopean worm... walls covered in blood, bodies of bugbears half eaten and ripped to thrown about... Subdolus finds a bugbear near one of the cabinets that looks to have been recently killed by a sword (so its possible Fletcher ran into some trouble...but the ranger is no where to be found (and subdolus unable to track). Suddenly high up in the NW corner of the room (above the entrance) you see a secret door open and Fletcher quickly jumping down to the ground dropping s suite of elf chain mail and some other pieces of treasure. Seconds later, appearing behind the agile ranger is a large forest panther (the same sort you saw occasionally while crossing the forest) with glowing orange eyes.....and by the gods it appeaers to be made of black obsidian stone, some sort of golumn or magical guardian perhaps.
Initiative: Monster 3 group 1.
The beast springs down ontop of Fletcher biting him for 8 pts damage and causing 4 pts in claw damage. Fletcher also must save vs petrification (rolling a 4). When the stone claws dig into him he feels himself suddenly frozen in place. If not for the rangers friends, the statue might kill him at any moment.
Counter attack. The party can all reach this obsidian black cat (the size of a full grown panther) do you want to stay back (perhaps use missiles) or charge in?

So if i have been keeping track of things right, i am at 40 hp right now. Is fletcher turned to stone, or just unable to move?

Your at 40 by my count also. Your just unable to move (similar to a ghouls attack). Of course your prone now to attack (unless someone moves in to help).

Once the fighters engage the stone panther, Tiberious will use his great speed to get to Fletcher and pull hm out of the way from further harm.

Tiberious pulls the ranger to safety as the fighters move in blocking the black cats path (though its glowing orange eyes follow Fletcher still). Zargon and Cal both miss, but Ermanaric hits with a 20 (causing a large crack in the things shoulder) and Subdolus hits with his scimitar removing the end of the obsidian golumns tail. Sog heals Fletcher for 6.
Initiative: monster wins 6 to your 2.
Zargon is bitten for 11 pts damage and is hit once with a claw for 3 more pts damage (the other misses). He saves at -2 vs. petrification. Zargon roles a 7! and suddenly feels frozen in place as if stone.
Group counter: Ermanaric hits again for 9 causing another crack to appear. Subdolus attacks but his weapons bounce off its hard body. Sog attempts to use his staff (I'll assume). The snake hits and entwines and starts to crush but doesn't slow the golumns attack. Cal and tiberious both miss.
Initiative: group 4 monster 1. Does anyone want to do something differently or keep attacking in the same way? (remember Zargon is now paralyzed as well).
