OOC: I certainly assumed the oil bomb Darian threw was lit!
Darian will throw 2 daggers (once again hoping his high dexterity will matter) at the goblin that has picked up Finrod's oil bomb.

"Back into da room so we can help yoo!" yells Gorthakh at those commanding the mercenaries. Realizing what Gorthakh is planning, Rendolf will take up a position of concealment (hidden as best as possible) inside the chamber, but along the wall just adjacent to the door so that he can ambush the goblins if the rest of the party continues with a retrograde move that will lure the little beasts back into the chamber, and their subsequent slaughter. There, Rendolf will wait for the silent strike should the circumstances be right. If the party clears the portal safely and the goblins cross the threshold into the chamber, Rendolf strikes!!!

As the group withdraws, the goblins do not follow up thier attack. Instead they too begin to withdraw. Darian is unable to hit the goblin with the oil bomb, but fortunatly his throw lands short and does not hurt the thief.

OOC: DOes the goblin thrown oil bomb now block our way as far as pursuing the retreating goblins? Did the earlier oil bomb takeout 2 of the goblins (I was not sure).
If the way is blocked Darian will enter the main chamber with the rest of the group and see what everyone wants to do, if the way is not blocked, than Darian will run with Gorthack to kill the fleeing goblins before they can get help. Darian will use a longsword in one hand and a dagger in the other (0/-1 to hit with dagger).
Darian will only travel 20 or 30 feet in pursuit before turning back, as he does not want to run into a prepared ambush or counter-attack. (Darian hopes his rate of movement versus the smaller goblins will allow him to over take them)

I helpfully move aside so as to allow my better armed and armored brethren to lead the pursuit. I only join in the pursuit if I would otherwise be the only PC left in this room. If I am joining in the pursuit I hang back far enough to (hopefully) avoid any flying missiles or oil bombs, and instruct the wounded mercs to hang back with me and keep a look out to our rear in case any other goblins approach from that direction. If I'm left behind in the room, I take a look around to see if there are any other entrances to this room, and if so instruct whoever is there with me to help me push the furniture over to block/barricade them. If there aren't any other entrances to this room then I suppose I just chill, and start searching for treasure/secret doors/etc.

Finrod also follows along with Gorthakh, behind Rendolf. He asks Melora to follow behind him at a slight distance, incase we have need of her sleep, there may already be a size-able counter force ready to strike.
Finrod holds a dagger and shield to block any missiles that might be thrown/fired at the magic user. Hopefully, with this show of support she will come along.

(Assuming fire does not block our path) Gerto follows the charge, hoping in the back of his mind that they don't blunder into another attack and can overtake the goblins before the chase leads us down an unknown path, making us lose our directions.

With their head start, the golblins manage to make it to the intersection before you can close in on them. They flee into the west tunnel. Do you intend to follow?

Oh, absolutely. Gorthakh does not intend to allow them to sound the alarm or return with the whole tribe in support!

Are we getting any closer? We should continue the pursuit if we can overtake them, but if we can't, we are simply following them to an area where they have the advantage. We have to overtake them BEFORE they reach their destination.
