I'm inclined to say, "to hell with the village", and get Sog back to civilization to see what can be done about getting him back.

After paying 5 GPs for the keep of your horses (which included some minor tending of scratches and such) The party heads out. Once the party is well away from the village Subdolus tells the group he saw several villagers with rings on that were similar to some he had seen being worn by the peasants you saw in the Behnnogs temple. A quick search by the half elf thief reveals several needles placed in the leather barding and saddles of four of the horses, that over time would likely have worked there way out and puncture the horses sides. He notices the needles are hollow and filled with a black gunk, no doubt a poison of some sort. The group (I'll assume) chooses to deal with this later, more concerned about getting Sog back to the port city of Vandal. The group heads back down the rarely travelled road you took to get to this village, the ride is threw crisp high platue country, travelling much of the time threw forest. you see a few packs of wolves that are persuaded to keep their distance with a few well placed arrows.
You camp overnight without event, and hit the main road the next day. Travellers coming down the road to the port city of Vandal (where you are also headed) tell you the war to the north country is going badly for King Jifus, and that several keeps and fortresses have been taken. "The River Oxyndale is holding those forces at bay for now. But once the river is breeched it could go badly for the towns of the Northern frontier". says the halfling at the helm of his wagon, complete with straw hat and corn pipe sticking from his mouth. "most of the little folk have headed to safety to the west under the protection of the Elvish king Alodane." The halfling and his small family sells the group some tastey food stuffs and bids you on your way. It saddens you to see such fine folk driven from their homes.
As you head closer to the coast the forest gives way to farmers fields flush with vegitables on the vine and fields of corn and wheat. You are passed by several large groups of warrriors on horse back headed to the northern country.
You see the spires of the great churches of the city of Vandal first, as well as the tops of gigantic statues. Once you cross threw the gates (each paying 1 GP) the party heads to Sogathan's church. A pleasant old monk by the name of Gilrick says he will be able to perform the needed prayers to bring him back, but it won't be cheap. "The gods must be payed" he says. Seeing that Sog is one of his order he will perform the task for 50,000 GPs or will settle for your boat in the harbor (the "Free Bird") the golden elvish crown and the magical ring the cleric has on his hand (the ring, if you remember, was taken from a puddle in the first dungeon you entered. It was the one that had a face looking out of it, and two displacer beasts appeared when Subdolus picked it up). The ring allows clerics to turn undead 4 levels higher then normal, and also allows clerics to commune with the dead 3 x a day (as if a 12 level cleric).
The gems and jewerly found in the bag of the Giantess hag are worth 20,000 GPs plus you recovered another 11,000 GPs, and an odd magical Naga necklase (its powers are unknown). Your ship is worth 12,000 GPs (and it presently has supplies on board worth another 3,000GPs). Zargon says he could cover the rest so you wouldn't need to sell any of the magic, but the group would be broke.
