Zargon calls out, "Hallo? Is there anywhere in there I could get out of this wind and snow?" He turns to look back at the gnome, then back at the figure ahead. "My boss here hopes you have some shelter." Not that Zargon didn't want to get out of the cold, too, but since the boss had told him time and time again that Zargon wasn't being paid to think, he usually let the boss make all the real decisions.

Smythus states to no one in particular: "another free loader after our deminishing food!" Snorting "perhaps we should send him on his way."
Ruinbottle says to Subdolus and Tiberious, "How will they cross the moat with their horses and no bridge. Should we go around and meet them at the other entrance? I hate going that way however, I fear there are other things that lurk in this dungeon we have yet to meet!"
Sub, You remember that the table upstairs that was in the queens dining chamber was nearly 20 feet long. Perhaps you could use that as a bridge.

Calhagn, coming into full view, waves an arm over his head, calling out, "Hey there. Cold enough for ya? There's warmth in here. Well, a bit anyway, and food. Just behave youselves and everybody stays happy."
With the bridge gone, is there any noticeable way in our out of the keep this way?

You think a rope bridge might work, though you think the theives might be working on something.

Zargon turns and calls, "Hey, boss! There's people in here, but I'm not sure how to get in.... You're smaller than me - maybe you want to jump the moat, boss?"

After some consternation the gnome carefully approaches on his small steed. As he comes closer you see him also to be suffering the effects of extreme cold, though the cold seems to be having less effect on him and his animal then it does to the obviously freezing human rider. He seems richly dressed in dark muted colors, and wears several fine pieces of jewelery, the nicest being a ruby ring on his left hand. One thing that comes to mind is that neither seem to be wearing deep winter clothing.
"Whos in there, I am Miles and this is Zargon my body gaurd. we are in need of assistance and can pay for any food and shelter you can provide. Though I warn you now, no funny business, I know how to take care of myself". The gnome dismounts upon seeing Calhagn a big grin crosses his face, "So lad how do we get across"?

Seeing no obvious threat Subdolus recommend that both Tiberious and himself should cross the moat by way of his rope of climbing. Once across the two of them can lead the new guests around through the caves as it would be much quicker and easier than moving the table. If anyone objects they can use the table but that would leave the strangers out in the cold for some time while they try to get the massive wooden planks into place.

Calhagn is impressed with Subdolus's magical rope which slithers around creating a path as tight and secure as any tightwalkers rope. The 2 nimbly cross over and shake hands with the freezing new arrivals. On closer inspection you see the two look like they've been on the run. Both have torn clothing, scratches across their faces, and their horses legs are also scratched and bruised, as if they had run through heavy forest growth for a long time before leaving the treeline and reaching the glacier. Subdolus fasinates both the newly arrived guests when he holds the rope and it returns to him like some enchanted snake winding back up to his master before being safely stowed away.
Following Subdolus's plan the 2 scouts lead the 2 new arrivals to the dungeon entrance (which leads back to the keep via underground). As the 2 scouts approach the main dungeon entrance (near area 1) Tiberious (in the lead invisible) spots 3 hairy white ape like creatures standing near the main entrance. On closer inspection the monk sees they are tearing apart and eating what appears to have been a human fighter...limb from limb. Viseral organs spill out of their hungry mouths as they devore some poor soul before your eyes. Subdolus reaches the front intime to see 2 of the tall man like apes (their dirty white fur now drenched in blood) start sniffing the air and begin turning in your direction. There is something evil and sinister about these creatures, with their human like clawed hands and star blue eyes that turns your blood as cold as ice. It appears they hear or smell the horses (or possibly their riders) and begin moving in your direction, they are about 100 feet away at this moment, what would you like to do?

Subdolus looks back to the new arrivals, "So if you guys have any ideas I'm listening."
If the two strangers don't respond with any quick thoughts Subdolus will pull out his scroll of Worg Summoning. It seems a shame to use it for three hairy beasts but without the rest of the party for backup now is as good a time as any to use it.

OOC: I was hoping Tiberious would suggest something, but since he's not around I'll NPC for him.
Tiberious sneaks back with Subdolus to help warn the 2 newly arrived guests of the impending encounter. "I have an idea lad, says the gnome. He quickly jumps down and throws back his robes as the 3 man-apes approach, lifting up his hands and casts a spell. Suddenly falling down from the cliff wall on your right you see a huge avalanche of snow racing down right onto the 3 white furred creatures. All 3 fail to save (3, 8, 7) and take massive shock damage. They are either dead or think themselves held fast by the ice. (BTW all the PCs failed as well and believe this avalanche to be real having to move around it to get to the other side). If you would like to do anything at this point (like attack them, or investigate let me know).

"Wow! Nice shot, boss! I was just gonna shoot 'em, but that was so impressive!"
Is the dead fighter where Zargon can see him, or was he "buried" as well?

No the dead fighter is up ahead near the dungeon entrance (about 100 feet or so). The gnome says slowly as not to break his concentration: "I don't know if their dead or not, they may believe they are pinned (Miles is the only one able to see the beasts who appear to be burried in snow to the rest of you as you also all failed to save), lets move quickly to the dungeon before my concentration breaks".
For times sake I'll assume you do so. On the way Zargon examines the body of the fallen fighter now in 4 pieces. You find he was a well muscled human of about 40 years of age. He wore chain (now useless) as is his shield, and find several weapons a flail and a broken short bow. You do find 30 silver arrows in a quiver and a nice looking long sword. On a pouch sewn into the lining of his cape, Subdolus finds 340 gps worth of semi-pres. gems and PP. you also find in his purse 31 GPS.

Once in the caves the group will proceed back to the stable. Once back Subdolus will take Sogathan aside and ask if he can determine the alignment of the three newest group members. If either of the fighters is lawful good Subdolus suggests that they may want to offer the sword they found to him.

OOC: the fighter you found near the dungeon entrance being eaten by the Yeti is dead.
In game: You return the remains of the fallen fighter. Emeranic sees the body and IDs him as a 5th level fighter who was in his group and a friend; Emeranic's party had split apart during the blizzard and white out, when gigantic birds attacked from above and the horses bolted. his group agreed to meet up if they were split at the top of the mountain, apparently he was attempting just that when ambushed and killed by the beasts.
After some preying and spell casting (as well as the use of his crown) Sog believs Zorak (Jeffery St. Clair) is a disiplined fighter of either LG or NG alignment. He also indicates that although his intellect is slightly lower then normal he has sound judgement. He also is, apparently, very loyal.
The group talks this over and agrees to lend the young fighter the sword. Zorak picks up the longsword which does not talk to him (as he is NG and the sword LG), but telepathically informs him it will act as a +2 long sword and give him 30% magic resistance for the duration of the adventure. After that the sword will only act so if he sincerely changes alignment to LG.
