I might be wrong, but don't "men at arms" and NPCs in general have a tendency to run, and double cross (once were weak they attack us and take all the goodies for themselves. The point I'm making is that it will be risky either way. This is something to keep in mind, sure, but doesn't (IMO) outweigh the benefit of having a couple extra swords (and hp sinks): Melora has a high Cha score (and I believe Finrod does too) which should give a signigicant bonus to the men-at-arms' loyalty scores, making them less likely to run away or turn against us. Plus, we're going to be using the men-at-arms as front-line fighters, so if we're weakened by combat they presumably will be as well. 6 of us against 3-4 0-level men-at-arms shouldn't be much of a problem (assuming they really are 0-level men-at-arms; if The Master throws in a 'ringer' -- say a CE 3rd or 4th level fighter posing as a man-at-arms -- we'd be in trouble, but we can't assume that's going to happen, and if it did hopefully we'd be able to ferret it out through roleplay before it came back to bite us). So yeah, if we hire men-at-arms we should keep an eye on them and minimize chances for them to ambush us or leave us in the lurch, but that's just a common sense precaution and shouldn't be enough to prevent us from hiring them. Currently Darian and Krago both are. Hopefully we can kill off these last two frogs before anyone else drops.

We've got two fighters left (Krago and Gorthakh.) Having Krago out of action is, therefore, definitely not good news. He's the guy with the big saving throws.
Worse than that, we've got no thieves and no dwarf who are fit to act, i.e. we're sitting ducks for traps if we continue.
Having said that, I'm loath to head back to the Keep again without some useful amount of cash; and the situation is nowhere near so bad as the last time we got mauled in a fight. I've got 3 heals left, which will hopefully suffice to put Darian and Krago back on their feet for a bit, so there's no call for a repeat of our previous headlong dash across open country with half the party strapped to our backs.
Assuming we can kill these frogs without further losses, I think we'll see how much cash comes off the room floor, then rest up and regain spells. At that point we can take stock and decide if we're going home again, or exploring another room or two.

Is it 7 days you have to rest after being healed?
If so, we could hang out here (I could get meat). There was no evidence of movement in this dungeon. Though I think I'd follow Melora's advice. Get the thieves back to safety, just speed up our keep actions. If we do leave we'll be sure to use detect magic in this room.

Unless we uncover a lot of treasure in this room we can't go back to the Keep yet -- we haven't accomplished enough, and don't have enough money to pay for another week in the inn. Therefore we're probably going to need to hole up for a week in this place -- up above, after having barricaded the secret door that led us down here. We've got rations and water (and if needs be we can drink the water from here after having the clerics purify it), we can probably eat these frogs as well, and/or send Finrod and the dog out hunting for rabbits or whatever if we run out of food.
As soon as this fight is over (which will hopefully be this round) we first need to have the clerics heal Darian and Krago up to positive hp totals, so they'll regain consciousness and begin the 1 week count to recovery. Then we need to search this room and pool thoroughly, to see if we can find any treasure or any exits -- we need to search the hallway the led here too. But even if we find any exits we shouldn't follow them yet, until our two thieves/scouts have recovered. Even if we by chance we recover a significant amount of treasure in this room (perhaps a gemstone or piece of jewelry) IMO we should still stay here until the thieves are recovered rather than risk any random encounters outdoors with them.

I agree, we can rest inside the dungeon since we have a secret door to keep us safe. After 1 week, nothing new has stumbled into the lair, so we might be safe another since we are also hiding and only have 1 approach to protect. Going back to the keep and bed resting would bankrupt us, assuming we aren't already. Unless we strike it rich and the frogs had fort Knox in their hidey hole...

We'll need to search this room then retreat to another place of safety. Any votes as to which room we camp out in. The entrance to the secret door needs to be blocked and the outside entrance to our room guarded (perhaps the dog could be given this task). We'll need to get a bunch of fire wood. I'd like to cast detect magic in the frog room as well, and will memorize a couple entangles to aid me in my food collection. I'll also speak animals to the dog and continue training during the "down time".

I'll agree to wait here while we recover one load of spells. However, the argument that camping out for a week in a dungeon is a better option than going back to Castellan's Keep, has yet to convince me.

I thinks it a matter of economics. It cost 10 gold to shack up a week in the keep. Plus 3gp per person for rations. Can we afford that? 25 gp or so? Lets take stock of all the loot <sigh> we've got from the frogs. I have 26sp on my person, plus this weeks worth of rations.

Well, we got 25gp from the frog room. That would cover room and board, we'd only have to pay the toll to enter the keep. How should we proceed?

SKA is back. Darian stops polishing Firnod's boots.
We follow Gorthakh's plan of checking out the pool for hidden treasure. We also check for magic in the room, pool and hall with statues as Melora mentioned. I have a DM memorized and ready to cast on Gorthakh (as he is our diver).

Back.
Darian hopes Finrod does not notice the strange smell coming from his polished boots.
Looks like nothing has changed since gone.
Is Darian able to walk about and explore at all in his condition?

Thinking ahead to our next adventure:
Are we going to explore the underwater area or are we going to try to tackle the Caves of Chaos? I feel going to the underwater area would be a mistake since we are not fish and getting into a fight underwater would probably be a bad idea. This might be self-evident, but I wanted to start the discussion now incase it isn't.
