The Master posted the total loot in the Equipment Check section. It includes the deductions for expenses, but does not include the keg of brady since we've yet to sell it or the scroll. Do we want to split all the money equally between the PCs, then ask for donations to the party fund to pay for the mercs to get better armor? Gerto's next purchase is going to be Plate Armor at a whopping 400gp, so he can offer some gold to the party fund since it will be a while til he gets 400gp and there's no point dragging it around waiting for it to get lost/stolen.

BTW, did Melora ever read what that magic scroll was. Where the hell is she anyway? The scroll is a clerical scroll with cure light wounds and hold person on it. I just realized since clerics can't cast read magic, their scrolls shouldn't require RM to read.

Gerto should get the scroll as he is the only one presently that can use it.
Hold person----a thief's dream!

Do I have to make any kind of roll to cast a spell higher level than I can currently cast?
Gerto nods and pockets the scroll, hoping it will save a life or two in the future.

I say we divide this up as evenly as possible, throw the remainder in the party pool and then require each PC to throw in a set amount.
We should buy additional food and oil and then try to have Rendolf (?) attempt to discern which cave may be that of the orcs. Since we have eliminated about a dozen of them.

Are we going to return to the old cave and search for the mercanary's body, or is it impractical to think it will stay un-eaten after a few days?

Gorthakh sniffs, hawks and spits.
"Dose goblins gonna be ready for us if we come again so soon. Dey gonna have made traps for us an' all kinds of fings. I'm not gonna risk it for da sake of a corpse."

Darian states, "Gerto, my freind. The dead merc is already fertilizing where ever the goblins defecate."

Do I have to make any kind of roll to cast a spell higher level than I can currently cast? The roll is based on the difference between your level and the level needed to case the spell normally. hold person is a second level spell and clerics cast it at third level.

So what are my general odds of casting it at 1st and 2nd level? Can I rely on it during a difficult fight, or is the failure % high? And do any stats affect the roll?

Stats don't effect the roll. You have a very good chance of casting it.
