Darian will wait to see how the sleep and command work out before throwing his lit vial of oil.
He will observe and then re-act.

I agree the command should be die, perhaps those in front charge in with darian just behind to perform the task if any goblins are around.
I cast FF (on oger) just incase it saves against command.

Actually Krago stands a good chance of avoiding the ogre's blows. Leather&shield + dex + dwarf vs Ogre bonus.

I cast FF (on oger) just incase it saves against command. It won't get a save. You get a save -v- command if you have 13 or greater INT, or if you have 6 or more HD; otherwise you don't.

Then we got a shot. If most or all of the goblin fall asleep, can we get to the Ogre and kill him on the one round he is down?

I hope so.
What I'm hoping is that the sleep will take down the goblins first (being the lowest-HD creatures in the room) and no more than one or two PCs (being the second-lowest), while the command brings down the ogre. That gives us a round. During that time, I'm hoping the Master will rule the ogre vulnerable to a coup de grace.
If it isn't vulnerable to that, we'll at least get several characters stabbing it, and Gorthakh (if he lives) will get its axe. It shouldn't be as dangerous once disarmed.

Even though time has stopped, who's to say space hasn't stopped? Gerto walks over to the Ogre, inserts his hammer into its head, and returns to his position in the line waiting for time to resume and smite the soon-to-be-former-Ogre.

It must be the Holiday Time-space continium.

Fatality! One ogre down. Hopefully there aren't too many more. I'm going to take the party out of these caves now. We've accomplished a lot; but we're out of spells and unready to continue. I'll have us rest in the forest for the remainder of Day 20, cast off our heals, rest again overnight and hopefully be fully fit to return to the Caves on Day 21. With any luck a second expedition to this cave will enable us to clear it.

With regard to the mercenaries, I say we need to upgrade the armor of the mercs at least one step of AC. I am unsure of what they currently have (leather & shield?)
In addition, perhaps we could provide some heavier armor to their spokesman.
Okay, I grabbed the PHB and looked at the armor. Studded leather is 15gp and provides AC 6 with shield, Scale 45gp and provides AC 5 with shield, Chain 75gp and provides AC 4 with shield.
I'm unsure of how MisterE is playing the mercs (as 0 level men at arms or as 1st level fighters) but better armor seems like a decent investment.

Whats our take after deducting keep expenses and paying the mercs? Before we split the loot lets see about just resupplying and arming up to the teeth (including the mercs). I think one more serious push in and we might hit pay dirt.
BTW, did Melora ever read what that magic scroll was. Where the hell is she anyway?

Being a thief Darian's first concern is: what is the take of each PC?
