The group coughs up the GPs and ownership papers are drawn up for the Free Bird and signed over to Sogathan's church (so you keep the crown and ring). Sogathan is taken deep under the church for the ceremony and the next day the group is happy to see their old bug eyed friend walking the halls with the aid of a cain. He is missing an arm just above the elbow but is otherwise fine (if you remember, it was blown off by Subdolus's little meteor shower). The cleric says the arm can be regrown but the cost will be either the crown or the ring (both are worth around 30K gps). Sogathan would be happy parting with either for his arm but thought he'd ask the group what they thought first (as in which item is more useful). He informs them he can still cast without his arm if the party feels it more worthwhile keeping the magic. He asks the opinion of the other PCs.
Almost forgot, the monk informs you the unholly book you took from the Giantess Hag (naming demons and devils) is valuable. He'll trade you a regeneration for that as well.
I'm going to assume Sogathan (and the group) agree to this, and the arm is regrown. Sog thanks his companions for bringing him back in almost one piece. He also tells you he'd like to keep the ring as it would be most useful to the party in his possession.
So, what does the group wish to do next? You could return to the first set of ruins, or do something else. Cadellin hears that King Jifus is putting together a secret strike force to attempt to take out the leadership of the evil northern empire. The castle in which the Overlord Mikoro rules from is located on a legendary island of skulls. Mikoro covets the wealth of the southern and eastern kingdoms and has united the many humanoid tribes (as well as many other assortments of evil) under his banner. Although his forces are vast in size, it is believed only a small number remain guarding his stronghold. And once inside the castle, a powerful group might be able to find and destroy him and his powerful chiefs.
Tiberious hears from one of his monk friends that a slaver's lair is rummored to exist hidden in a cave 40 miles down the coast. Infact, this monk knows a sailor who supposedly dropped supplies there and picked up slaves (or so he claims).
Few dare venture there as its waters are guarded by a multiheaded sea serpent named Scramagnas.
