Sog reaches Zargon and heals him for 3 (bringing him up to 1 HP) Zargon awakens and can stand up (OOC: in my game Zargon can attack next round if he wishes, I don't use any resting rules, though at 1 HP your in pretty bad shape).
Subdolus charges the creature from its blinded side and attacks. Your scimitar slices off 2 of its legs and cuts threw its shell inflicting 9 more points of damage, however your dagger just scrapes off its body. (OOC: I'm going to assume Tiberious stays back and throws his 2 handaxes of returning) (15,17) One bounces off the other penetrates its hard shell for 9 pts total.
The creature is obviously very hurt, and despite being in range to attack Subdolus opts to jump over the side landing into the the now wavy underground sea.
________
The 2 pike who've been hiding see the giant crab (10 feet across) splash in 15 feet away, blue blood oozing from cracks in its shell and missing legs, also one of its eyes seems inactive. Within one of its front legs is the sphere you saw when you were still human ackwardly grasped in a pincher like appendage at the end of one of its front legs. It seems to not notice you and is heading toward the cave where the water comes out (its forward progress slowed by the pulses of water still pushing in).
You also see the shark moving in your direction, attracted by the splash...its probably a half round away. What do the pike adventurers wish to do (you could make a run for the cave into the island if you wish its only 20 feet away), continue hiding, or something else?
OOC: After Calhagan and Em go I'll role initiative.

Tiberious will drink his remaining potion of extra-healing (OOC:Axe let me know how much it heals me for).
He will then use his ability to speak with animals to see if he can get an update from our pike friends. Tiberious will also tell the hammerhead to behave and we will feed it the tasty remains of the creatures we just killed!
(Tiberious hopes to learn of the underwater breating helmet so we can get to the crab-creature witch-hag before too much times passes)

CalPike suggests to ErmPike that they attempt to work in concert to leap from the water onto the island, "carrying" the helm with them.

OOC: TRP cool idea, I never considered this (so how high can a pike jump? After some online research, I will allow this attempt)
It just so happens your timing is perfect as your attempting this at the zenieth of the wave formation. You both head down a bit until you see a large wave moving in. Just as the shark is nearing you at full speed (10 feet out) you torpedo to the surface, helmet in mouth. The large wave brings you 5 feet to the cliff edge, carrying the helm makes this a bit difficult. Here goes nothing: saves: 14,14. You both make it onto land and start flapping around the helm falling to the earth safely.
The rest of the group heads down after seeing this odd site, and see the sharks hammer shaped nose as it sinks back into the water, moving off toward the giant crab (hungry Hammer Heads love crab). The shark wins initiative and attacks the bleeding and severly injured blue crab (moral 15, bite 19!) and bites down hard inflicting 6 pts damage on the huge creature.
The crab (now 15 feet below the surface and descending fast) turns around and attacks with both claws, one misses but the other clamps down hard on the sharks midsection inflicting 9 pts damage.
Initiative: Group (and shark) 4 monster 6. The giant crab suddenly transforms back into a woman now naked and badly bleeding (her beauty lost in terror). She madly attempts to charm the shark but the casting time is too long (4 segments) so the shark gets to go first. The shark focuses in on the shiney object held tightly under her arm and, bites down hard (sucking at the same time) swallowing the glowing sphere along with the sea-witches entire arm up to her shoulder ripping it off and swallowing it hole (doing 9 pts of damage).
The sea witch goes into shock and stops moving while the shark starts ripping at in a frenzy, tearing off a hand then ripping off her head and eating it, until finally grabbing the torso and heading down toward the bottom disappearing into the sea grass, only blood and small fish following the feast for tidbits indicate where she's located. Do you wish to do anything(remember it has the sphere in its stomach)? Also what about the pike (who are now gasping)?

Sog throws the pikes back into the water a good distance away from the shark.

So Sog, do you have any dispel magics memorized? Might come in handy about now.

Ok, Sog will cast DM on both of them.
Now it's time to investigate the globe.

OOC: Sorry took so long.
OK, both pike move in close to a rocky shore where Sogathan casts his spell (Subdolus's rope ready for them to grab onto). Both transform on the spot back into humans with all equipment and supplies instinctively grabbing for the rock and rope. Once back on land they feel a bit nautious but otherwise fine.
Sog remember, he globe was eaten by the shark (when it ate the witch that had grabbed the sphere while in crab form), and the shark is now 40 feet away and heading toward the cave entrance where it originally came from, apparently awaiting the next suction of water outward to leave. If you can think of something you want to try to do to stop it, this is likely the one chance you'll get.

We have a helmet that is likely one of water-breathing and I have a potion of water-breathing.
Anyone want to try wrestling, and gutting, a shark?

A sly grin crosses Subdolus's face, "Anyone feel like chumin' for shark with chunks of hag. If we draw it close enough we may be able to kill it without entering the water. If we do kill it close enough my rope can drag it in."

Tiberious says he has a ring of water breathing. Calhagan, you realize if you enter the water and get too close to that cave entrance your likely to get sucked out to who knows where. Of course ropes could solve this problem. Also, much of the group is in bad shape (Cal and Erm are actually least hurt as they were in Pike form most of the time). To keep things moving, I'll assume Subdolus doesn't wait for a discussion and starts tossing pieces of dismembered hag in. This does capture the sharks attention and it quickly swims closer (but doesn't seem to eat any). I'll assume Calhagan puts on the helmet (which now seems fairly normal) grabs a rope and jumps in. Once the helmet hits water a bubble of air forms around it and 2 crystal lenses drop down in front of his eyes to help him see. In armor you sink pretty quickly and see The shark immediatly start heading your way (apparently this hammerhead likes live food esp. human). Just as you enter the bed of sea grass you see the shark torpedo toward you thrusting its head up just before it bites. Initiative: Shark 2, Calhagan 4 (Cal wins). I'll assume you use your sword. Not used to fighting underwater your sword gets tangled in some vegitation (rolling a 1). The shark bites but its teeth scrape against your armor (a few sinking in and breaking off) but doesn't inflict any damage. Initiative: Shark 4 Cal 5. Calhagan pulls his sword free and turns as the beast attempts to get around his back side. As it goes for another bite Cal thrusts his sword, but it scrapes off the sharks belly creating only a small tear. This time the hammerhead hits (wiht a 19) and grabs hold of Cals arm biting with tremendous force doing 6 pts damage (and causing a plume of blood). Also you feel the water begin to be sucked out and the rope tied to your waist is all thats keeping your balance. Round 3: initiative: shark 2, Cal 4. Cal wins init again and sticks his sword deep into the gills of the beast for 14 pts of damage! The shark attempts to flee (moral 3) so Cal gets a free attack for 9 total (sticking your sword deep in its gut) this causes the shark to start convulsing and swiming irratically until it finally dies. Just as the current begins to drag the dead shark body out to sea you manage to get your rope around its body and the group (watching from above) begins pulling. WIthin a few minutes your on dry land, your helmets eye pieces pulling back into the helm. It takes a few more minutes but eventually (with everyones help) you get the 14 shark on land. Ermaneric and Calhagan (who have gutted plenty of shark in their time at sea) quickly gutt the shark and pull out many parts of the sea witch (along with the pearl sphere still glowing slightly its image of an ocean fading) as well as her magical black wand of paralyzation (you know the command word when she screamed it, but only an MU can use this I believe). Also of interest you find an unopenned bottle of wine, a broken and chewed on sexton, the leg of a sailor (still wearing his boot) and a slimey bundle of cloth that when openned reveals a cloak fashioned in the style of sailors. From the look of the boot and style of cloak Calhagan thinks the shark has come from the Sea of Thykore a largely uncharted region far to the North known for fierce seas, storms and barbarians who battle themselves over several kingdoms in that region. Cal hasn't been up that way for 15 years, but remembers it to be severly cold and harsh with only a few civilized outposts along the coast to trade. Sogathan and the rest of the group study the pearl and see nothing new, and after another 10 minutes see the ocean depicted in its luster disappear altogether (now it appears to be a gigantic and exceptionally flawless white pearl. Sog wraps it up and stowes it in his backpack (wishing his magician friend were around to help him figure out how this thing might work) (OOC: if you wish to try using it or doing something with it let me know. Bringing it back into the circle of stones has no effect BTW). Driftwood is collected along the shore and a fire made to warm the wet adventurers. Nothing happens for 48 hours and the group completely rests and is healed by Sog. There is still the cave on the island you could investigate. It lies 30 feet away and appears to go downward (an 8 foot wide opening). Or you could return the way you came over the ropes. (OOC: BTW, Subdolus didn't have to use his potion so you still have it).

OOC: Sorry for the delay.
The 2 scouts see the passage heads down steeply and drop ropes to aid their descent. After carefully climbing down 80 feet they reach a cavern 20 feet high and 40 feet wide. Salty white stalagtites hange down in beautiful thin spirals some very delacate (so that a breath would desolve them). Also a 15 x 6 foot briney mud pit (like paint pots) bubbles hot with steam to the far right, its steam exiting threw cracks in the ceiling. In the center of the chamber sits a 10 ft. tall statue of plump and naked goddess. Sog recognizes it as a sort of "mother goddess" statue, one uncivilzed folk still worship in distant and primitive places, but has past out of favor locally well over 1000 years ago. She has one arm raised with its fat wide hand folded out as if to accept something (perhaps an offering), the other hand holds the likeness of a tuff of wheat.
Tiberious spots a secret door on the other side of the bubbling mud pit, only a foot exists between the pit and the door (and it looks as if scolding mud might splash on you if you attempt to get to the door.
What would you guys like to do (everyone is now present).
Tiberious
