As slow as the game goes sometimes, i really enjoy playing without needing a big production to get everyone together.

I agree, asynchronus chat is much easier than the usual Sunday theatrics.
But they had their charm. How else are we going to get someone to eat cat food for exp? ;D
Or a year-old-opened Burger King salad dressing packet?
Or make "instant" coffee by pouring ground coffee into hot water?
;D

I've realised that I need to switch out being caller.
I'm finding myself remembering parts of the Caves as we explore. Truth is, I don't just think that's the Ogre's lair beyond the secret door - I'm sure it is. This is the bit of the goblin caves where they're supposed to yell "Bree-Yark!" to summon the ogre, isn't it? The Master's cleverly skipped that kind of distinctive detail, but it's coming back to me.
I've blocked the western exit on the grounds that I'm sure this is a one-way trip through the goblin lair and the other exits go nowhere. As I think about this, I've realised that there's no justification for me to assume that, except that I've been through here before with different characters.
And to be honest, the reason I've sent three unsupported characters into the ogre's lair is because I've "assumed" that there isn't another ogre. I'm pretty sure that isn't just an assumption; I think it's probably a memory.
If I'm right about all this, I've got to recuse myself from leading the party.

I think one of your assumptions/memories might be faulty (and there's a chance The Master has mixed things up too), but your larger point stands -- we should either be led by someone who doesn't have any prior experience with this module (which would be Gerto and who else? anyone?) or optionally The Master could have us engage in some offstage/abstracted 'intelligence gathering' to bring character knowledge up closer to the level of player knowledge -- perhaps that goblin prisoner was babbling while you guys were preparing the barricade and let slip the info you've assumed/remembered? And of course where memories are faulty or The Master has changed things would mean we'd acquired bad intelligence...

I wouldn't worry about that Gorthakh, we all have memories of this module. However, if your tired of being caller thats another matter. But if not, press on...

I guess I am the only one who hasn't played. Id be willing to call for a bit, just dont blame me when we all die But agree with Axe, only if you want to switch off Gorthakh.
