Gorthakh invests 10gp in additional flasks of oil - not necessarily for oil-bombs, we also need to fuel the lantern.

Does anyone in the group have any silver weapons? We might consider getting a few silver daggers made incase we run into a lycanthrope.

Can I borrow 1gp from someone so I can buy a large shield?

Finrod lends 2 GPs to Gerto. He now has 9 remaining.
Master, How much would a silver dagger cost, and are they available?
Should each of us pitch in a GP to pay these mercenaries?

Gerto profusely thanks Finrod as he heads off to find a large shield to purchase.

From the rules thread: "Characters will be charged 100 gp per level per month in basic expenses." We have 9 days after we leave the Keep again to get that money

*nods*
We need 500gp in expenses. We also need 400gp for a suit of plate armour for you, 400gp for a suit of plate for me, wages and living expenses, and 7,500gp (minimum cost!) to pay for the training when we level if Mr E's using the btb rules on all this.

Well, technically I believe "in town" living expenses are factored into that 100 gp/level/month, so we probably really only owe ~95 gp apiece since we've already paid a bit for room & board

Eh, you've got to get hold of new spells. You can't buy those for money! No siree, it's an arm, a leg and your firstborn child to scribe one of those...

I'm going to reduce the upkeep cost to 50 gp for the first month. Next month will be full price however. Training costs will be much less than by the book, not quite sure how much yet.

Finrod finds the price too high to even contemplate. He instead donates 7 GP to the group fund for whatever it sees fit to purchase and pay for. He has 2 GP remaining.

So are we f**ked pretty bad with this Ogre business? We have 8 goblins and an ogre to deal with and most of the party is wounded already. Whats the game plan? Sleep the goblins, Command the Ogre to die, then slit throats?

How wounded is everybody and how much healing magic do we have left? Any? A sleep spell would clear out the gobbos in a hurry, dropping most if not all of them. A command to the ogre to die would drop him for 1 round which is great if we've got someone in position to finish him off during that round, otherwise he'll 'revive' the next round and we're screwed (we can't melee this thing, especially not already injured -- one hit from that stone axe is probably enough to drop any of us (except maybe Rendolf) not just to unconscious but to really and truly dead). Commanding him to flee would buy us a couple rounds (1 round of running away, 1 round of running back) to prepare to ambush him with oil bombs and missiles, as a second option.

We want both the sleep and the command here. Both have to land next round or we're at very serious risk of a wipe.
The command will be "Die!" - I want that ogre dead for good, not for two rounds, so he needs to hit the deck and get coup-de-graced. That means no goblins interfering.
The danger point is that whoever fights the ogre this round stands a serious risk of death. I'll try to make that me, by attracting its attention, but as long as nothing hits Melora or Gerto, the rest of the party will survive (and hopefully gain access to all the ogre's treasure too!)
