If the protection from evils are the cleric version, Cadellin gives them to Sogothan; if they're the mage version Cadellin keeps them. Sog gets the protetion from devils and demons (useful!), the cure disease, and the cure blindness. Cadellin keeps the wall of fire.
Cadellin is not interested in the ring.
Cadellin suggests that he could summon some creatures and have them open this odd box with the pink mist, while the party remains at a safe distance.

OOC: Oh cool!
You summon 4 goblins. After talking to them for a bit you send them forward into the open walk in safe sized box. After about five minutes only 2 goblins come back out (both covered in blood). They inform you that they found the box to be filled with a pink fog that tasted sweet but was otherwise not harmful. When they walked to the back they found they could keep walking and walking for several minutes it sound like. Finally the mist cleared and they could see a ruined castle up ahead, a long cracked bridge leading to it across a deep chasm. On the ground lieing before this bridge was the body of what looked like a fighter, his hair and clothing still smoldering (from the description it sounds like the evil knight you had been fighting). Feeding off of him were 3 reddish creatures with hooked claws and multiple shiney eyes. When they noticed the goblins theyt attacked killing two quickly and then giving chase to the other two goblins who lost them in the pink fog. eventually they found the opening to the box again and came back threw. The blood on them is not theirs but splatter from the other two victims. A description of these creatures indicates they were about 7 feet tall, with spikey tails, legs and arms, with single long hooked claws rather then hands. They tell you their was a bag of jewels laying next to the body that one of the creatures was examining.
What does the group wish to do?

Cadellin questions the goblins more closely, asking about the skies and rocks they saw.
Have they been to another plane? Cos this sounds suspiciously like somewhere in the Lowers.

The goblins describe the ground as dark grey rock with large boulders about one could hide behind. The outcropping which the ruined castle was built upon also appeared black and jagged. but the goblins never got close enough to the edge to look down the chasm to see where it went. The castle and bridge however were made with a bluer colored stone, perhaps granite.
It appeared gloomy and the sky was covered with deep wild grey clouds that moved about as if a storm was approaching. Many black birds high up sailed slowly about on the winds. The temperature, they tell you, was mild (around 60 you think).
What would you like to do next?

Cal is not keen on such travel without a guaranteed return route.

Sogathan says he does not detect evil on the mist or box.
He takes the scrolls gladly and tucks them away. Are you guys going to keep or destroy the 2 evil swords?
Also does Cadellin wish to attempt to learn wall of fire so he can add it to his spell book (your high enough right?), or would you rather just use it as a scroll?

He'd like to try to learn it.

You manage to learn the spell (rolled 32%) and copy it down in your spell book.
I'm going to assume you guys rap up the remaining magic and tuck it away in Tiberious's bag of holding (two evil long swords, the ring with an eye on it, and the battle axe with dragons head).
Zargon suggests the scouts go check out the box, perhaps learn more about this other location and were it leads to. What does the rest of the group think? You could always go on to your destination (the village) and hide the box (to heavy to carry far) or anything else.

Hiding the box and going on to the village sounds good to Cadellin... thoughts?

OK, I'll assume the box is hidden then. You find the key (you found on the old man) fits the door, which I assume you close and relock. The group spends many hours digging a hole and push it in cover what bit sticks out with dirt. Subdolus camaflauges it the best he can, and then the group heads to the village. The rest of the trip goes uneventfully (though without horses its a much longer haul taking 2 days of travel. When you arrive you see villagers moving about as normal. To remind you, the entire village is surrounded by a moat.

Who took care of the horses while we were here? Let's start with them; persuade them talk, then take it from there.
That's what Cal suggests.

Or, not.

The horses were kept at the only horse stable inside the village (more a large shack really), the keeper was an elderly chap named Kiznor and had a red haired youth as an assistant. So, the group wants to go there first then?

I assume we didn't just walk up into plain sight.

Do you want to try and sneak in then (maybe send the scouts first?)
