OOC: That was close Jeffery, but big Z made it.
After recovering everyone from the pit, guards are posted and the worst sit down while Sogathan evaluates everyones wounds (he's a bit concerned about the ones injured in the pit by the tentacle beast, there wounds seem badly infected). While this is occuring Tiberious and Subdolus search around a bit, and Subdolus discovers a 18' high, 12' wide secret door (rolling a 2) in the far southeast corner of the room (with remains of one of the large statues resting against it); they leave it for now and do a quick search for treasure, but find only 200 PGs in change scattered about (but both suspect there is a great more hidden someplace). Do you wish to search anyplace in particular? Does the group wish to set up camp in here or move elseware? Sog, whom do you wish to heal first (and how many heals do you have left, you've used 2 so far).

Setting up camp seems like a good idea. Ermanaric offers to take a double watch so that the casters can have more rest time if needed.

The group sets up camp, several resting while others take watch. Subdolus moves to near the entrance that leads outside and hides in shadows while Tiberious covers the main gate using his cloak to become almost invisible.
After about 10 minutes of hiding, Subdolus is suddenly surprised to see a face barely peeking out from the passage that leads outside. Its silouted in the light, but appears human in size and shape. Your 15 feet away from it, and if you move silently might be able to win surprise. What do you wish to do?

Seeing as Fletcher is discovered, he will hit his sword against his shield to announce his presence.
"Hail Good sirs, I am Fletcher Green. I mean you no harm, I seek refuge from the elements."

When Zargon's head clears (relatively speaking), he generously thanks the others for the timely rescue. He moves about the Onocentaur's chamber, looking for the sword he dropped, while the group sets up camp.
When the newcomer announces his presence, Zargon looks up long enough to see that whoever it is isn't attacking, then resumes his search for his sword.
OOC: Thought Zargon had had it! ;D

Zargon eventually finds his sword near the gate lieing in some mud. Everyone sees the bright flame like aura it produces for a moment when its picked up and cleaned off, obviously very happy to be found by its deserving master...who came close to buying the farm. Fletcher moves closer in as the group watches with caution. You think these grizzly fellows look as if they've been underground for a good long time, covered in grime with armor dented, some bandaged....but obviously professionals at this sort of work....definitely a motly crew, your glad they seem to be friendly. OOC: Mistere, here is the map of the dungeon to get your barings (though you only see one room so far), you approached from the bottom right (where it says "outside") you can see where the ice wall is and where the river comes out of the hillside. The keep is just on the other side of the river (the one closest to the river is the upstairs level of the keep actually). The room you enter 33 appears to be an old religious hall, with pews splintered and thrown about and a row of statues broken against the south wall. img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/AxeMental/filledDungeonMapnet24.jpgDoes anyone wish to introduce themselves and fill this stranger in about the basic mission?

Tiberious introduces himself to the new comer. "Good sir, I am the monk Tiberious. Myself and my comrades seek a princess , who we hope we have found, and a Prince, who we still seek."
OOC: What does the newcomer look like? Human? Seems to be a fighter?

He wares his clothing and armor like someone accustomed to moving threw the wilds ( natural hues, and well packed supplies), his skin and hair reveal someone who has spent a great deal of time outdoors (not softenned by city life) he wares male and cloak with snow still sticking to him.

"An noble endeavor, no doubt. But there is more than the royal family in jeopardy. I had discovered a ransacked village 2 weeks ago. I believe prisoners were taken from there as well. The trail has led me here."

Sogathan feels the secret door calling him and says the party should try it before going to the gate.

The group sets camp here for 2 days as the cleric heals the injured (the infections finally clear on those injured by the pit creature).
Fletcher proves very useful to the group aiding with security (despite his recent race up the mountain and nearly freezing to death he's alot fresher then the rest of you). During this time Fletcher (a fighter you assume) gets to know the group a bit, and listens in disbelief to all of their strange adventures in this horrid place and the forest below, the battles and your many lost comrads. Fletcher recounts his own personal mission, to find and rescue prisoners from a nearby settlement wiped out in the valley below, the last footprints leading to this keep area.
During this time he gets a better look at the dead onocentaur, a half mule half giant cyclops, this one with 2 heads. A mythical beast you were taught....HA!
While the others rest and heal up, Fletcher examines the ground near the secret entrance and notices the hoove prints of the onocentuar coming and going from it, but also notices faint remains of bootprints of human size coming and going from it (but older and fewer) and mentions this to the others. The group eventually heals up and Sog rememberizes spells (I'll assume the standard assortment), and all are ready to go.
After the thief Subdolus checks for traps the fighters clear the entrance of the large block of stone blocking it. It then requires 20 minutes and the strength of all the fighters to open it.
Beyond the large stone door the group sees a 140 foot passage going south, 20 feet high vaulted and 15 feet wide. Its construction is different from the outer chamber, it seems a bit more crude and def. newer in construction (a dwarf might be able to tell you how long ago) horrible crude faces are carved along the walls every 20 feet on both sides, Sog recognizes them as motiffs of evil dieties long forgotten from the world, he has only seen them in ancient texts from the far southern wild regions. Fletcher notices human boot prints heading into one of these faces (a green gargoyle looking thing on the east wall) halfway down the passage (23%); despite searching by the scouts it is Calhagan who discovers the secret door (locked) and Tiberious its key (a stone lever disquised as a tooth). After traps are detected for (none are found) the pitted stone tooth is pushed down and outward by the monk causing a loud pop and then the section of the center of the stone mouth to smoothly open out and lower down like some grotesque descending green slimey tounge 6 feet long and sweating. Once it settles on the ground it is clear a person could enter the newly revealed passage one at a time (though they'd need to stoop a bit). Do you wish to investigate this passage, its sides and top carved to imitate a ribbed throat...the entire thing reminds you a bit of the mouth you entered going into room 31) it appears to go straight back at least 30 feet before disappearing into a mist...though you think it goes further in still) or do you continue foward down the main passage and leave this for now. You now see the main passage turns to the east at its far end (like an "L").
If you wish to investigate the newly found passage what order (do the scouts go first)?

Fletcher will go in and investigate the first 30 feet of it, trying to see if standing inside will allow him to see what is concealed by the mist.
Sword and shield will be readied.

As you move into the passage you notice the ground and walls seem a bit sticky. human sized boot prints are visible to your trained eye coming and going multiple times. As you move to the 30 foot mark down the hall you see the mist seems to get thicker and the air warmer. A faint chanting can be heard in the distance up ahead.

Fletcher will report his findings to the party. He will volunteer to lead the party in investigating the chanting. (As I understand it, we will have to go in single file.)
I would suggest that we investigate this passage

"Maybe the monk should take the lead for now, followed closely by Fletcher and the rest of the fighters."
OOC: Anyone got a Silence?
